EMDR Therapy in Frisco, TX

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s one of the most studied treatments for trauma, anxiety, and grief. If talk therapy alone hasn’t been enough, EMDR may be the missing piece.

At Mosaic Way Counseling, our Frisco therapists use EMDR to help your brain heal from the inside out. We meet in person at our Frisco office or online anywhere in Texas.

How EMDR Works

Some memories get stuck. Your brain stores them in a raw state, so a sound, a smell, or a place can throw you right back. EMDR helps your brain reprocess those memories so they settle.

Your therapist guides you through sets of eye movements while you hold a target memory in mind. Over time, the memory loses its charge. You remember it without the same flood of emotion.

It isn’t hypnosis. You stay awake and aware the entire session.

What a First Session Feels Like

This is the part most pages skip. Your first session isn’t deep processing. It’s getting to know you and building a plan. Your therapist explains the eight phases and helps you feel ready.

Active processing comes later, only when you’re prepared. Sessions run 50 minutes. Many people feel the work continue between visits as the brain keeps sorting things out.

What EMDR Can Help With

Trauma and PTSD. Anxiety that won’t quiet down. Grief. Triggers and flashbacks. Negative beliefs like “it was my fault” that have followed you for years. Some of our therapists also use EMDR for birth and maternal trauma, including pregnancy loss and a hard postpartum season.

Why Mosaic Way

Our therapists are trained in EMDR, and several are EMDR-certified. That’s well beyond a weekend course. We keep caseloads small so your therapist can focus. Clients often say the check-in is easy, the office feels calm, and they get quick answers when they reach out.

What It Costs

Sessions run $50 to $200 depending on licensure. We accept Aetna, Cigna, and Optimum directly. For other plans, we provide a monthly superbill for out-of-network reimbursement.
