Therapists Serving Grapevine
Grief doesn’t wait for a good time. It shows up in the middle of a work trip, on a quiet walk down Historic Main Street, or the first time you reach for the phone to call someone who isn’t there.
Grapevine clients see us in person at our Southlake office. Virtual sessions work too, including weeks you’re away, as long as you’re in Texas.

Grief counseling
Grief follows a death. It also follows a divorce, a diagnosis, a job loss, a move, or a pregnancy loss. Some losses get casseroles and cards. Others get almost no notice at all, which can make them harder.
There’s no right way to grieve and no timeline to meet. Some people feel numb. Some feel angry. Some feel fine for months and then fall apart over something small.
Our therapists give that room. Sessions may focus on the loss itself, on the guilt or regret around it, or on how to function while it still hurts.
When grief looks like something else
Grief doesn’t always look like sadness. It can look like trouble sleeping, a short temper, pulling away from friends, or throwing yourself into work.
Kids grieve too, often through behavior. A child who lost a grandparent may seem fine in class and melt down at bedtime. Play therapy can help younger children work through a loss they can’t put into words. See child and play therapy.
Travel and shift schedules
If your job runs on airline schedules or odd hours, a weekly slot can feel impossible.
Our Southlake office is open Monday to Saturday until 8pm, and several of our therapists offer evening appointments. Virtual sessions with select therapists can cover weeks when you’re on the road, as long as you’re located in Texas.
Tell us how your month looks at the consult. We’ll factor it in when we suggest a therapist.
Other help
Teens in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD often feel pressure to have it all handled. Some open up more through art, music, or writing. See teen counseling.
Loss can strain a marriage, even when both people are grieving the same thing. See couples counseling.
When grief brings panic or constant worry, anxiety counseling can help. When a loss was sudden or frightening, EMDR therapy is another option to ask about.
Kinds of loss we help with
- The death of a parent, partner, child, friend, or pet.
- Pregnancy loss or infertility.
- Divorce or the end of a long relationship.
- A diagnosis that changes your plans.
- A job loss or a move away from your people.
Holidays and anniversaries
Grief often gets louder around holidays, birthdays, and the anniversary of a loss. Many people are caught off guard by how hard those days hit, even years later.
A therapist can help you plan for those days, and get through them.
When partners grieve differently
Two people can lose the same person and grieve in very different ways. One wants to talk. The other goes quiet.
That gap can feel like distance. Counseling can help each person understand the other.
Guilt, relief, and other
mixed feelings
Grief isn’t only sadness. Some people feel guilt about what they said or didn’t say. Some feel relief after a long illness, and then feel guilty for that.
Those feelings are normal. A therapist can help you make sense of them without judging.
Helping a grieving
child at home
Kids grieve in bursts. They may cry one minute and want to play the next. That doesn’t mean they don’t care.
It helps to use simple, honest words. Keep routines steady. Let them ask the same questions more than once.
Faith and grief
For some people, faith is a big part of how they grieve. For others, loss raises hard questions about faith. Both are welcome here.
Visits, hours, and cost
In-person sessions happen at our Southlake office. Our Southlake office is open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm, and closed Sunday. Session times vary by therapist. Some of our therapists also meet by secure video with anyone located in Texas.
Our offices are built to feel warm and calm, not clinical. Entrances, parking, and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.
Sessions generally range from $100 to $200. The rate depends on the therapist’s license, experience, and the type of service. Couples and family sessions may have a different rate. We take cash, credit cards, and debit cards. HSA and FSA cards are accepted for eligible services.
We accept most eligible Aetna plans. That coverage runs through some of our associate-level counselors and licensed master social workers. They bill under a clinical supervisor. We check your coverage before you book.
Most of our fully licensed therapists are private pay. You may still be able to use out-of-network benefits. When it makes sense, we can give you a superbill. That’s a detailed receipt you send to your plan. It doesn’t guarantee you’ll be paid back.
