You don’t need to be on the edge of divorce to try therapy. Most couples who come to us aren’t in crisis. They’ve noticed a pattern they can’t fix on their own.
Maybe it’s the same argument on loop. Maybe it’s an emotional gap that keeps growing. Maybe a life change shifted things and you can’t get back to normal.
If that sounds familiar, here’s what to know.
Signs It Might Be Time
There’s no single moment when therapy becomes the answer. But some patterns are worth noting.
Talks that turn into fights. One or both of you have stopped sharing what really bothers you. You feel more like roommates. Trust took a hit and you don’t know how to rebuild. A new baby, job shift, or move changed your dynamic.
In a busy community with packed schedules and dual careers, many couples put their relationship on autopilot. By the time they notice the gap, it’s been growing for a while.
What Happens in a Session
Sessions are 50 minutes. Both partners attend. Your therapist guides the conversation. They’re not there to pick a side.
Early on, the focus is understanding each person’s view. Then you work on new habits together. Most couples start weekly. Many notice a shift in the first few weeks.
Common Worries
Some people worry therapy will make things worse. It won’t. A good therapist creates a balanced space where both partners can be honest.
Others worry about cost. At Mosaic Way, sessions are $100 to $200. We accept Aetna, Cigna, and Optimum directly. We also work with other plans. Our office is open six days a week with evening hours.
Making the Decision
