You may have started noticing the same things happening over and over again. You end up in similar relationship dynamics. You know you need better boundaries but struggle to hold them. Anxiety takes over, even when part of you knows everything is okay. Other times, your reaction to something happening now feels bigger than the moment itself, leaving you wondering why it affected you so deeply. Cassie loves working with people who are ready to get curious about these patterns and understand what’s underneath them, creating space for greater awareness, clarity, and meaningful change.
Cassie doesn’t want therapy to stop helping you feel better for the week. She helps clients make sense of their current stressors while exploring how past experiences and relationships may still be shaping the way they see and respond to the world around them. Sometimes, the ways we learned to cope or protect ourselves made perfect sense at the time. Later, those same patterns can make it difficult to trust, communicate, hold boundaries, or feel secure in who we are. Cassie helps clients connect those dots, understand themselves more deeply, and decide what they want to do differently.
“Cassie has been an incredible support, helping me understand and manage my anxiety with compassion and practical tools. Her warmth and insight have truly made a difference in my journey.”

Bio & Background
About Cassie
Cassies brings insightful curiosity to her work with couples. Cassie enjoys helping couples who love each other but find themselves caught in the same arguments or patterns of disconnection. Before becoming a therapist, she worked as a Professional Relationship Coach. Today, she combines that experience with her clinical training and Gottman Method education to help couples understand what keeps bringing them back to the same conflicts, not simply resolve the latest disagreement.
Cassie also has a heart for women navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and the many changes that come with motherhood. She understands that a season filled with love can also bring anxiety, relationship changes, and questions about who you are now. There is space to talk honestly about it all, without judgment or the pressure to have everything figured out.
In the counseling room, Cassie is genuine, direct, and engaged. She listens without judgment, but she also isn’t afraid to ask the question that makes you pause and think. Clients don’t have to edit themselves or say what they think they’re supposed to say. There is room for hard conversations, and there is also room to laugh. Therapy with Cassie is a conversation, not a performance.
For clients who want Christian faith to be part of counseling, Cassie welcomes it. Her own spiritual journey is an important part of why she became a therapist, and she can incorporate faith into the therapeutic process when it aligns with a client’s beliefs and goals. As a Cuban American therapist who is fluent in English and Spanish, she also understands that culture, family, and values can be deeply connected to how we experience ourselves and our relationships.
Outside of counseling, Cassie enjoys the simple things, being at home with a good book and a matcha or chai nearby. She loves hiking, traveling, learning about different cultures, and making the most of the holiday season, especially decorating Christmas trees. Her curiosity and appreciation for the meaningful details in everyday life are qualities she brings into her sessions with clients.
Professional Background
Cassie earned her Master of Social Work from Texas A&M University-Commerce and holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of St. Francis.
Before becoming a therapist, Cassie spent several years working in healthcare, including oncology, where she reviewed and analyzed complex medical information and collaborated closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This experience shaped her ability to look beyond the immediate concern, recognize the many factors influencing a person’s well-being, and approach complex situations with thoughtfulness, precision, and care. It continues to inform the grounded, detail-oriented approach she brings to her work with clients today.
Cassie’s work in mental health began before graduate school. As a former Certified Professional and Relationship Coach, she spent several years working with individuals and couples to improve communication, navigate conflict, pursue personal goals, and identify the beliefs and relationship patterns that were keeping them stuck. She helped clients develop greater awareness of how they communicate and relate to others while building healthier, more intentional ways of understanding themselves and their relationships. This experience continues to complement her clinical work today, particularly in her work with couples.
During her clinical training, Cassie worked with individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, trauma, and a variety of life transitions and challenges. Her clinical experience included assessment, treatment planning, individual and family counseling, group therapy, and crisis support. Working across these areas strengthened her ability to understand each client within the context of their relationships, experiences, and individual needs while providing thoughtful, evidence-informed care.
Cassie has continued to build on this foundation through advanced training in EMDR and the Gottman Method. She is currently pursuing EMDR certification and incorporates trauma-informed approaches into her work based on each client’s needs and treatment goals. Her clinical focus includes trauma, anxiety, relationships, attachment, boundaries, and the ways past experiences can continue to shape how we think, feel, and relate in the present. Cassie is committed to ongoing professional development and brings a thoughtful, direct, and compassionate approach to helping clients develop greater self-understanding and create meaningful, lasting change.
Specialties
Trauma & Childhood Wounds
Sometimes trauma is easy to identify. Other times, it looks more like patterns you can’t explain, a nervous system that always seems on alert, difficulty trusting people, or beliefs about yourself that started a long time ago. Cassie helps clients understand how past experiences may still be influencing the present and work through them without allowing the past to keep writing the story.
Relationships & Couples Counseling
You can care deeply about someone and still feel like you’re having the same argument on repeat. Cassie helps couples slow those cycles down and understand what is actually happening underneath the conflict. Her background in relationship coaching and Gottman training helps couples work on communication, emotional connection, boundaries, and the patterns that can quietly create distance over time.
Anxiety & Stress
Anxiety can show up as racing thoughts, overanalyzing, needing control, difficulty relaxing, or constantly preparing for what might go wrong. Cassie helps clients understand what their anxiety is responding to while developing ways to feel steadier when their mind and body seem stuck on high alert.
Pregnancy, Postpartum & Motherhood
Pregnancy and becoming a mother can shift relationships, identity, priorities, and emotions in ways that are difficult to anticipate. Cassie supports women who need somewhere to be honest about the beautiful parts and the difficult ones without feeling like they should be handling it differently.
Attachment & Relationship Patterns
If you find yourself repeatedly choosing similar relationships, pulling away when someone gets close, fearing abandonment, or struggling to trust, there may be more underneath those patterns. Cassie helps clients explore how earlier relationships shaped what connection feels like today and begin developing healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
Self-Esteem & Identity
Cassie works with clients who have spent so much time adapting to other people’s needs or expectations that they’ve lost touch with themselves. Therapy becomes a place to question old beliefs, reconnect with what matters to you, and become more comfortable showing up authentically.
Boundaries & Communication
Knowing what you need is one thing. Saying it out loud can be much harder. Cassie helps individuals and couples communicate more clearly, recognize unhealthy patterns, and set boundaries that allow for connection without constantly abandoning their own needs.
Life Transitions
Marriage, divorce, parenthood, career changes, moves, and other major transitions can bring unexpected questions about identity and relationships. Cassie helps clients understand what a new season is bringing up and decide how they want to move through it.
Modalities
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Cassie uses EMDR to help clients work through experiences that continue to carry an emotional charge even when they know intellectually that the event is over. It can be especially useful when clients understand why they feel a certain way but can’t seem to make that understanding change how they actually feel.
Gottman Method
Cassie is Level 2 Trained in the Gottman Method, giving her additional tools to help couples understand what happens when communication breaks down. Rather than simply telling couples to “communicate better,” she helps them recognize patterns during conflict and work toward stronger friendship, trust, communication, and emotional connection.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Sometimes the thoughts we repeat so often begin to feel like facts. Cassie uses CBT to help clients notice those patterns, question beliefs that may no longer be serving them, and understand how thoughts can influence emotions and choices.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Not every uncomfortable thought or emotion needs to disappear before life can move forward. Cassie draws from ACT to help clients make room for difficult internal experiences while making choices that are more aligned with their values and the person they want to be.
Internal Family Systems (IFS-Informed)
Cassie uses an IFS-informed approach to help clients better understand the different parts of themselves, especially the ones that may feel anxious, critical, guarded, or reactive. Rather than judging those responses, she helps clients get curious about where they come from and what they may be trying to protect, creating space for greater self-understanding and compassion.
Attachment-Based Therapy
Cassie helps clients look at how their earliest experiences of connection may influence relationships today. This can be particularly useful for clients who recognize patterns involving trust, closeness, conflict, rejection, or fear of abandonment but aren’t sure where those patterns began.
Solution Focused Therapy
Sometimes clients need depth. Sometimes they need to figure out what would make Tuesday afternoon a little easier. Cassie uses Solution Focused Therapy to identify what is already working and turn insight into practical next steps.
Trauma-Informed Therapy
Cassie doesn’t believe meaningful trauma work requires pushing someone into the hardest parts of their story before they’re ready. She pays attention to pacing, trust, and what a client needs to do deeper work without losing their sense of control.
Faith Integrated Counseling
For clients who want Christian faith included in therapy, Cassie welcomes conversations about God, faith, purpose, and spiritual life as part of the counseling process. Faith integration is always guided by the client’s own beliefs and what they want from therapy.
