Reid brings a warm and relational presence to her work with children, teens, and young adults. Before becoming a counselor, she spent several years as a teacher, where she saw firsthand how much children and teens thrive when they feel safe, supported, and truly known. That experience continues to shape the way she approaches counseling today.
Reid believes meaningful growth happens in the context of a trusted relationship. Her goal is to create a space where clients can slow down, feel comfortable opening up, and explore what’s really going on beneath the surface, without fear of judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.
Reid especially enjoys working with children and adolescents. She is trained in Child-Centered Play Therapy and Activity Therapy, which allows children to communicate and process their feelings in ways that are natural for them. Through play, creativity, and guided activities, Reid helps children work through emotions that can sometimes be difficult to express with words.
For teens and young adults, Reid offers a steady and empathetic space to talk through stress, relationships, identity development, and life transitions. She believes each client already carries many of the strengths needed for growth and enjoys walking alongside them as they build confidence, develop coping skills, and gain clarity about their next steps.
Reid believes therapy doesn’t have to begin at a breaking point. Sometimes it’s simply a place to process the everyday weight of life before it becomes overwhelming. She hopes each client leaves sessions feeling a greater sense of internal safety and empowerment as they navigate their lives.
Whether she’s sitting on the floor in the playroom with a child or supporting a young adult through a challenging season of life, Reid’s goal remains the same: to ensure every client feels seen, heard, and supported.
Outside of the counseling room, Reid enjoys spending time outdoors, often walking her Australian Shepherd, Basil, along Katy Trail. She also enjoys attending workout classes, reading, and trying new recipes with her fiancé. Recently, she has taken up crocheting as a new creative outlet. These moments of movement, creativity, and reflection help her stay grounded and present, qualities she intentionally brings into the counseling room as she supports clients in their own growth and healing.
“Reid’s guidance helped me manage challenges and move forward in a more positive direction.”

Bio & Background
Professional Background
Reid received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Tech University and Master’s of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University, where she specialized in child, adolescent, and trauma counseling. During her training, she developed a strong interest in supporting children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate emotional challenges, life transitions, and relationships.
She gained valuable clinical experience at a local Family Advocacy Center, where she worked with individuals and families navigating difficult circumstances, trauma, and relational stress. This work strengthened her ability to sit with people through painful or overwhelming experiences while helping them rediscover resilience and hope.
Reid’s background as a teacher continues to shape the way she connects with young clients. Her experience in the classroom gave her a deep understanding of child development, learning differences, and the pressures many children and teens face today. It also reinforced her belief that when young people feel safe and supported by the adults around them, incredible growth can happen.
Today, Reid integrates her experiences in education, counseling, and relational care to help children, teens, and young adults build confidence, develop emotional awareness, and navigate life with greater resilience.
What Parents Can Expect
When working with Reid, parents can expect a counselor who truly values partnership with families. She works to create a space where children feel safe enough to express themselves while also helping them learn practical ways to manage big emotions and challenges.
Reid believes parents play an important role in the counseling process, and she enjoys supporting families as they better understand their child’s emotional world and discover new ways to encourage growth and connection at home. She provides thoughtful communication, encouragement, and guidance as Reid helps families better understand their child’s emotional needs and support their growth both inside and outside the counseling room.
